E. Phyllis Warren, age 78, of Biglerville died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Chapel Pointe in Carlisle. She was born Sunday, May 1, 1932 in Penn Township, Cumberland Co. the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Margaret (Eckenrode) Gettle. Phyllis's first employment was at Halter's Grocery store in Newville She was then employed by Carlisle Tire and Rubber for 30 plus years before her retirement. After retirement she worked for Osborne Printing formerly of Biglerville and Barbour's Fruit Stand in Cashtown. She was a very active member of Wenksville United Methodist Church for 57 years, making Easter eggs for the church fundraiser. She was also a member of Red Hats, which she attended with her good friend and neighbor Mary Myers, United Methodist Womens Society, and Upper Adams Jaycees.She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and bus trips with her friends.She cooked and baked beautiful and delicious food. She is survived by her husband Fred M. Warren to whom she was married for 57 years. She is also survived by five sisters: Anna Grace Landis, Carlisle, Thelma R. Varner, Boiling Springs,Doris Shumaker, Carlisle, Ruth Jane Wallace Shippensburg,Maryetta Fickes Carlisle;a brother, Mervin Gettle, Newville; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers J. Paul Gettle and Harold J. Gettle. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 23 at the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville withReverend James R. Speelman officiating.Interment will be in Wendsville Cemetery. A viewing will beheld at the funeral home held on Wednesday, December 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
