E.C. Anderson, Jr.

E.C. Anderson, Jr., age 83, of Aspers, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024 surrounded by his family in Aspers. He was born April 10, 1941 in Moravian, NC, as the son of the late Enos Chester Anderson and Ethel E. (Johnson) Anderson.

E.C. graduated from Wilkes County High School in North Carolina. He worked for Roadway Express driving truck for 30 years. He was a member of Upper Adams Fish and Game and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, E.C. enjoyed going to the races and going on hunting trips.

E.C. is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, D. Mardell (Gochenouer) Anderson; daughter, Nita Nelson (Allen) of Traphill, NC and son, Troy “Butch” E. Anderson (Michelle) of Newville; three grandchildren, Wesley Nelson (Jamie) of Traphill, NC, Alexis and Jarod Anderson and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Nelson and Ella Grace Nelson; four sisters, Elizabeth Anderson, Cornelia “Nellie” Holland of Rogers, AR, Polly Nickols (Wesley) of Wilkesboro and Selma Griffin (Ernest) of Moravian Falls; two brothers, James (Wanda) and Lee Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, E.C. was preceded in death by his two sisters, Virginia Cuddell and Shirley Allen and brother, Robert Anderson.
