Edna G. Comerer, age 99 of Shippensburg, formerly of Walnut Bottom, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the home of her granddaughter in Shippensburg. She was born Monday, September 21, 1914 in Upper Strasburg, the child of the late Harry and Blanche (Morgret) Sheaffer. Edna was a homemaker. Her husband, Herman "Jude" Comerer preceded her in death on July 20, 1980. She is survived by her five daughters, Vesta B. wife of Theodore Barnhart, Hanover, Barbara A. wife of William Weaver, Harrisburg, Margaret (Peg) wife of the late Edward Strohm, Newville, Hazel wife of the late John Rinaldi, Walnut Bottom, Julia (Judy) wife of Branden Brandenberg, Boiling Springs; two sons, Brinton C. husband of the late Dorothy and 2nd wife Katherine Comerer, Shippensburg, and Herman (Sonny) Comerer, Butler; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Gettle and Jennie Basila; brothers, George Deshong and Harry Sheaffer; daughter, Joyce Betsy Comerer; granddaughter, Wendy Tane Barnhart and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Virginia (Vaughn) Comerer. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 118 West Main Street, Walnut Bottom with Reverend Harold Bolyard officiating. Interment will be in Rehoboth Cemetery, Walnut Bottom. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Box 217, Walnut Bottom, PA 17266.
