Edward L. Kuykendall

Edward L. Kuykendall, 84, of Gardners, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Gardens of Gettysburg.

He was born February 5, 1942, in Gettysburg, PA, the son of the late Seymore Kuykendall and Minnie (Black) Kuykendall. Ed is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois (Shaffer) Kuykendall.

Ed was a member of the Idaville United Brethren Church. He graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1960, where he received the Keystone Farmer Award – the highest honor in the Pennsylvania FFA. Following high school, Ed began his career with the Army National Guard. Later, he worked for Bert West Plumbing. Ed also worked as a mechanic at Musselman’s Gardners plant and the Patriot News as a machinist. After retiring from The Patriot News, Ed finished his career at Ziegler Brothers in Gardners -where he held various positions.

In addition to his wife, Ed was survived by three daughters, Debra Hankey and her husband, Dennis, of Gettysburg PA, Brenda Crissler and her husband, Jeff, of Aspers PA, and Tracy Troutman and her husband, Bob, of Gardners PA; five grandchildren, Jordon Cressler and wife, Krystal, Elizabeth Aldinger, Brittany Cressler, Jon Troutman, and Jennie Troutman; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Cressler and sister, Mary Lou Crushong.

Nothing was more important to Ed than family. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S, Main Street, Bendersville. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adams County SPCA.
