Edward T. Hickman, age 61 of Shippensburg, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Chambersburg, Hospital. He was born Thursday, November 1, 1951 in Rahway, NJ, the son of the late Edward and Helen A. (Suhoke)Hickman. Edward graduated from Union Catholic High School in New Jersey. He owned and operated Hickman Automotive and the former West End Service Center in Shippensburg.He was well respected for his automotive diagnostic abilities and for providing quality automotive repairs to the community. He enjoyed old cars, going to car shows and fishing. When his illness forced him to stop working, he developed interests in automotive pin striping and in local Civil War history. He enjoyed ocean surf and pier fishing for his entire life. He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary M. (Greey) Hickman. He is also survived by three sons: Edward J. Hickman, John C. Hickman and James F. Hickman, all of Shippensburg; and a sister, Carol Gregory of Nevada. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 305 North Prince Street, Shippensburg with ReverendFather David Hillier officiating. Mary and her sons will receive condolencesprior to the Funeral Mass, beginning at 10:00 AM. A light lunch will follow the Mass at 12:00 noon. Many thanks to all for their kind thoughts and prayers.
