Eileen J. Mauss

Eileen J. Mauss, age 82 of Biglerville, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at York Hospital. She was born Tuesday, July 9, 1935 in Straban Township Adams County, a daughter of the late Paul and Armatha R. (Pyles) Lightner. Eileen graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1953. She was formerly employed as a nurse at the Gettysburg Hospital. She then went to work as a receptionist at the Gettysburg Times and then at the Gettysburg College. Eileen was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Biglerville, where she sang in the church choir. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard C. Mauss. She is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Staub and Regina Snyder both of Littlestown, two brothers, Clyde Lightner of McSherrystown, Terry Lightner of Gettysburg, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Lightner. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 25 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 300 E. York Street, Biglerville with Reverend Linda Summers officiating. Interment will be in Benders Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
