Elbert L. 'Tooter" Altice, age 72 of Gardners, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Wednesday, December 13, 1939 in Lanark, WV the son of the lateJohn and Girtie (Ayers) Altice. He was the loving husband of 51 years to Connie Jeanette (Hostetter) Altice. He is also survived by two daughters: Katrina Jeanette (Altice) Faircloth and fianc� Allen Bair of York Springs, Cherry Michelle (Altice) Felts and husband George of East Berlin; one son: Randy Lee and wife Linda Altice of Thomasville; 10 grandchildren: Bobbie Jo (Faircloth) Brodbeck and husband Josh, Kelly Lynn Faircloth Lady and husband Bryan, Candace Jeanette Faircloth, Austin William Felts, Andrew Zachary Felts, Adam James Felts, Cory Lee Altice, Heidi Ann Altice, Stephen Engelhardt and wife Jennifer, Christopher Engelhardt and wife Tiffany; eight great-grandchildren: Sierra, Dakota, Brooke, Kyrsten and Nathaniel Brodbeck, Zoe and Chase Engelhardt and Otto Engelhardt; two sisters: Darlene Altice Miller Swisher and husband Barry of Aspers and Gloria Altice Rickrode and husband Jim of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Eddie, Fletcher, John, Orvil, Lloyd and Curtis Altice and sister Frances Altice Hudnell. He is also survived by sister-in-laws: Vada and Sylvia Altice and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He had formerly worked at C.H. Musselman's, Carlisle Army War College, PennDot and Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a member of Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church in Gardners. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, woodworking, and especially his family. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 6, in Upper Bermudian Church, 185 Ground Oak Church Road, Gardners with Reverend Eric N. Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will also be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services. The family wishes to thank Dr. Adam Wasserman and HS-VNA of Hanover, also Gettysburg Hospital Emergency Department and Critical care unit.
