Elda M. Bean

Elda M. (Gardner) Bean, age 95, of Aspers, died Monday, March8, 2010, at Golden Living in Gettysburg. Elda was born March 15, 1914 in Aspers, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Ora (Bush) Gardner. Mrs. Bean was formerlyemployed by Mt. Orchard Co-op for 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Aspers. Her husband Cecil W. Bean died in 1990. She is survived by three sons: Donald W. Bean and wife Ann of Bendersville, Ronald D. Bean and wife Jane of New Oxford and Richard L. Bean of Aspers; four grandchildren: Carol (Bean) Ritter and husband Randy, Morgantown, Denise (Bean) Wilson and Mark, Maryland, Angela McMaster and husband Russell, New Oxford and Adrianne Redding and husband Daniel, Abbottstown; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, D. Richard Gardner. Arrangements are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010. Funeral service will be at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc, Bendersville at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010 with Rev. Robert S. McEllroy III officiating. Interment will be at Bendersville Cemetery.
