Elsie S. Diehl

Elsie S. (Streaker) Diehl, age 93, formerly of York Springs died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Cumberland Crossings. She was born Monday, April 9, 1917 in Prinicipo Furnace, MD the daughter of late George and Grace Z. (Rocky) Streaker. She was raised by Harry A. and Magdalene Dixon. Elsie graduated from York Springs High School in 1935. She also graduated from Central Penn Business School. Shewas formerly employed by Mechanicsburg Naval Depot as a civilian secretary for 20 years. She was a member ofYork Springs United Methodist Church, Methodist Church Guild, York Springs Alumni Association and York Springs Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She also served as secretary for the church board and was active in many church groups. Her husband John Roy Diehl, Jr. died in 2000. She is survived by her son, John R. Diehl, III and his wife Carol, Mount Holly Springs, and granddaughter Stacy Diehl-Durham also of Mt. Holly Springs. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Gylling. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 30, at 10:30 AM at York Springs United Methodist Church, 840 Trolley Road, York Springs with the Reverend Kevin Locker officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday at her church from 9:00 AM until time of services.
