Emerita Nieves

Emerita Nieves age 88 of Aspers went to be with the Lord Friday, August 9, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital with her family by her side. She was born Friday, February 13, 1925 in Narajito, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Asuncion Santiago and Ramona Nieves. Emerita was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of God in Gettysburg. Her husband Encarnacion Nieves passed September 12, 1992. She is survived by two daughters: Carmen Garcia of Gettysburg, Edna Laureano of Chambersburg, two sons: Victor Nieves of Miamar, FL Abraham Nieves of Naples, Fl; three brothers: Luis Santiago and Israel Santiago both of Puerto Rico and Raul Santiago of Providence, RI; sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Rosa M. Perez and a brother, Enrique Santiago. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Brownsville Church of God, 6390 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville with Pastor Victor Johnson, Pastor Federico Laureano and Pastor Jose L. Lugo officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday August 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. .
