Emily R. Decker

Emily Rose Decker, age 20 of Chambersburg, gained her wings on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Hershey Medical Center following a brief battle with leukemia. She was born Saturday, March 30, 1996 in Chambersburg, the daughter of David Leon and Rose Mary (Arnot) Decker. Emily graduated from the Career Magnet School in 2014. She was a member of the National Honor Society and an officer in her school alumni association. She was a junior at Shippensburg University where she studied Human Communications. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was employed by Blue Mountain Sports Apparel in Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, Emily is survived by her sister, Amanda Smith, nephew Owen Smith, and niece Savannah Smith, all of Shippensburg and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Steven Smith, and her grandparents. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 12 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Derek Wadlington officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until services. Casual dress is requested. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A gathering of friendship will follow.
