Emory J. Heller

August 17, 1925 — January 28, 2017

Emory J. Heller, age 91 of Aspers, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at SpiriTrust Home in Gettysburg. He was born Monday, August 17, 1925 in Butler Township, Adams County, the son of the late Melvin A. and Pheobe (Weirman) Heller. Emory was formerly employed by Knouse Foods, Peach Glen for 47 years. He was a member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville. Emory enjoyed hunting, watching deer from his front window, and fishing for salmon in Lake Ontario. He also loved to attend auctions. He served in the US Army during Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Warren Heller who passed in 2008. He is survived by his son, Randy E. Heller of Aspers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Eugene and Robert and one sister Hazel Spangler. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, January 31, at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
