Esther R. Taylor, age 88 of Bendersville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Saturday, October 25, 1930 in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Mary S. (Martin) Ritter. Esther was formerly employed by Dal-Tile for several years. She also worked at Bear Mountain Orchards in the packing house for many years. Before working for Dal-Tile, she and her husband Gerald owned and operated their orchard in Wenksville and attended the West Shore Farmers Market. She was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and baking her pecan cookies. She especially enjoyed making peanut butter eggs for her church. Her husband Gerald D. Taylor passed away Oct. 19, 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Suzie and husband Clyde Taylor of Aspers, Molly and husband Charles Hoffer, Jr., of Harrisburg, one son, John R. and wife Gloria Starry of Mechanicsburg, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mary Shields of Dillsburg, Dorothy Kreitzer of Enola, Claire Roller of Jacksonville, NC and Marian Deckman of Mechanicsburg, Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 10 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of services. Esther requested the omission of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville, PA 17307.
