"Gene" Diem

Eugene “Gene” Robert Diem, age 53, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at York Hospital. He was born April 18, 1969 in Lebanon, PA, as the son of Melvin and the late Grace (Sweigart) Diem.

Eugene attended Culbertson Mennonite High School in Chambersburg. He worked as a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church in Shippensburg. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and mowing his 20 acres of land.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Devonna, "Voni", (Martin) Diem of Shippensburg; step-mother, Janet Diem; daughter, Adrianna Martin (Derek) of Quakertown, PA; five sons, Wesley, Brad and Lyndon and fiancé, Sidney, all of Shippensburg, Anthony and his fiancé, Rethea of Waynesboro and Donovan (Amanda) of Chambersburg; two sisters, Marie Shaum (Wilmer) of Columbiana, OH and Eunice Wadel (Nevin) of Richfield, PA; five brothers, Lester (Dorcas) of Lebanon, Mervin (Vera) of Chambersburg, David (Anna May) of Leetonia, OH, Glen (Janette) of Shippensburg and Wayne (Joyce) of Shippensburg; four granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Eugene was preceded in death by his nephew, Devin Diem.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2022 from 2-4 PM and continue 6-8 PM at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the church with Rowe Ministry officiating. Interment will follow at Rowe Mennonite Church Cemetery, Shippensburg.
