Eugene P. Heller

Eugene "Jinx" P. Heller, age 90 of Aspers, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at his home. He was born Thursday, March 13, 1924 in Bendersville, the son of the late William G. and Elsie (Wingert) Heller. He owned and operated Eugene P. Heller Plumbing and Heating from 1958-1997. He served in the U.S. Army as an MP and was stationed in the Philippines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 262 of Biglerville, a life member of the Bendersville Fire Company and a member of the Upper Adams Fish and Game Association. He is survived by two sons, Larry (husband of Sharon) Heller of Bendersville and Ron (husband of Cindy) Heller of Biglerville, four grand-children, Tammy Shoff, Kurt Heller, Sonya Showers, and Ryan Heller and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Erma A. (Johnson) Heller who passed on January 3, 2013. He was also preceded by five brothers. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 80 Apple Avenue, Gettysburg with Pastor Robert Gray officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.
