Frances S. Sterrett

Frances S. Sterrett, age 95 of Shippensburg, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Green Ridge Village in Newville. She was born Friday, March 31, 1922 in Saltillo, PA, the child of the late Vincent and Viola (Hooper) Senft. She was a fabulous cook and baked for everyone in her family. She loved to work with her hands, crocheting and gardening. She canned most everything she grew. She was an avid animal lover and loved watching wild birds and caring for her family's Siberian Huskies. Frances loved helping others. She would make anyone have a good day and always made them feel good about themselves. She told everyone she saw "I love you" as genuinely as their own kin. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Beam (David) and Sarah Jane Davis (Ron) both of Shippensburg, step-son, Clarence "Sonny" P. Sterrett of Scotsburg, IN and sister, Geraldine Thomas of Saltillo. She is also survived by numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Sterrett, her son, Vincent Patrick McNerney, her siblings, Kenton Senft, Betty Lane and Eugene Senft. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 27 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Mr. Bruce Levy officiating.
