Francisco M. Alvarado, Sr.

Francisco M. Alvarado, Sr., age 83 of Gettysburg, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. He was born Saturday, November 12, 1932 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico the son of the late Santos and Gertudis Alvarado. Francisco was formerly employed by Hanover Foods for 48 years.He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing the local creeks and ponds. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine L. (Ohler) Alvarado. He is also survived by two daughters, Tina L. Alvarado-Romero of Gardners, Teresa A. Lane of Biglerville, two sons, Jose A. Alvarado of Biglerville, Francisco M. Alvarado, Jr. of New Oxford, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Alma Sanford officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
