Garnet L. Taylor, age 79 of Aspers, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, May 31, 1938 in Menallen Twp. Adams Co. the son of the late Blake L. and Myrtle (Warren) Taylor. Garnet graduated from Biglerville High School in 1957. He was formerly employed by Menallen Twp. on the road crew and also served as Menallen Twp. Supervisor. Before working for the township, he owned and operated Taylor Excavating for almost 30 years. He had also worked at Knouse Foods in Peach Glen. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Aspers, a life member of the former Aspers Fire Company and a member of Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club. Garnet loved to hunt locally and also enjoyed going to Colorado elk hunting for many years. He served in the US Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tonya E. (McCleaf) Taylor. He is also survived by one son, Timothy E. and wife Elizabeth Taylor of East Berlin, two grandchildren, Alexander and Isabelle, five sisters, Barbara Trimmer of Biglerville, Patricia Kennedy of Gettysburg, Judith Harman of Aspers, Linda Harbaugh of Chambersburg, Debra Deardorff of Orrtanna, two brothers, Thomas Taylor of Biglerville, Erick Taylor of Aspers, many nieces and nephews. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. At Garnet's request, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, PO Box 165, Aspers, PA 17304.
