Gary Lynn Barbour

Gary Lynn Barbour, age 79, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, surrounded by his family at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville. He was born on January 19, 1945 in Gettysburg, PA, as the son of the late Guy Milton and Imogene (Rank) Barbour.

Gary graduated in the Class of 1962 from Biglerville High School. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Utz Quality Foods after working there for over 25 years as a route salesman. He was a member of Benders Lutheran Church in Biglerville, former member of the Gettysburg Moose Lodge 1526 and former member of the Elks Lodge in Gettysburg. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed going to car shows.

Gary is survived by his loving daughter, Julie M. Barbour and her fiancé, Ian Avery of Gettysburg; granddaughter, Jenna Walter; two sisters, Donna Dixon and Deborah Shue and her husband, Keith; three brothers, Larry Barbour and his wife, Nancy, Barry Barbour and Randy Barbour and his wife, Theresa and many nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Diane (Ditzler) Barbour.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. At Gary’s request, a Private Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at the discretion of the family in Benders Union Cemetery.
