Gary "Butch" R. Bigler

Gary "Butch" R. Bigler, Sr., age 75 of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born Friday, July 11, 1941 in Shippensburg, the son of the late Jim S. and Beulah V. (Schaeffer) Bigler. Gary served in the Air Force. He was self-employed as a painter all his life. He was involved with his children as a baseball coach, enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, an avid Steelers fan, playing cards and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Jo (Larry) Sampson of Upper Strasburg, sons Troy E. (Pam) Bigler of Newburg, Gary R. (Marsha) Bigler, Jr. of Virginia, step-son L. William "Bill" (Angie) Stoner of Newville, grandchildren, Heather, Jeffrey, Lars, Isabel, Jennifer, Kevin, and Natasha, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jazmine, Diamond, Raven, and Brayden. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda in November 2016 and granddaughter Dominque Bigler in 2014. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, January 13 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Vaughn Shatzer officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM until time of services.
