Gayle L. Patterson

Gayle L. Patterson, 55 of Gettysburg, passed on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Lord's presence, surrounded by her family. She was born Saturday, July 16, 1960 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Glenn W. Sr. and G. Mildred (Miller) Jacoby. She was a school bus driver for 30 West Carriers. She was also employed by the Gettysburg and Biglerville School Districts. She formerly had a daycare for 13 years. Gayle loved visiting her cabin, baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was very creative, artistic and loved serving others. She was an active member of Freedom Valley Church of Gettysburg for 20 years where she helped with children's and other church ministries. She was also a volunteer for Shining Stars Therapeutic Riding Ministry. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Donald L. Patterson; five children, Elisha Loughney-Blankenship, and her spouse Bruce Blankenship Jr., Sommer Patterson and her significant other Patrick McGuire, Elijah Patterson, Isaac Patterson, Jonah Patterson and significant other Missy Little; six grandchildren, Paige, Jordan, Alyssa, Cameron, Mikinley and Ryder; six siblings, Jeanne Smith, Mary Jewell, Sandy Suders, G. William Jacoby Jr., David Jacoby, Randy Jacoby, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Peggy Silk and brother, Stephen Jacoby. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A private burial will be held for the immediate family on Friday. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 12 at 11:00 AM at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Flowers may be sent directly to the church.
