Gene Howard Strait, Sr.

Gene Howard Strait, Sr., age 72, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born November 29, 1950 in Waynesboro, PA, as the son of the late Lester and Gladys (Gosnickey) Strait.

Gene graduated in the Class of 1969 from Waynesboro High School. His last employment was at Sears before his retirement. He was a member of the Chambersburg Fire Police. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed fishing, building models, bowling and watching western movies.

Gene is survived by his son, Gene Howard Strait, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Saint Thomas, PA, daughter, Amy Baker of Chambersburg and nine grandchildren, Ethan Strait, Imagen Strait, Vance Strait, Vincent Strait, Hazel Grace Strait, Anthony Strait, Johnathan Strait, Katelynn Baker and Zachary Baker. Gene is also survived by his brother, Lester Strait Jr. and his sister, Deborah (Strait) Tallent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Strait and son, Michael Strait.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at King Street Church, 162 E King St, Chambersburg, PA 17201, with Pastor Ron Cook officiating.
