George W. Defenderfer

George W. Defenderfer, age 94, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Saturday, December 17, 1927 in Saint Thomas, the son of the late Charles N. and Mable J. (Nelling) Defenderfer. George graduated from Saint Thomas High School in 1946. He was formerly employed by Valley Auto/ Buick in Chambersburg for about 10 years and then NAPA Auto Parts for over 50 years. He was a member of King Street Church. He loved antique cars, going to auctions and talking to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kathryn M. (Stinson) Defenderfer. He is also survived by his daughter, Brigid R. and husband Ed Martin of Mercersburg, a son, Gregory W. and wife Deb Defenderfer of Carlisle, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Diffenderfer and two sisters, Germaine Clevenger and Elizabeth Shetron. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg with Reverend Ron Cook officiating. Interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum.
