George Rummel, Sr.

George Rummel Sr., age 93 of York Springs, passed away July 6, 2024 at his home. He was born June 19, 1931 in Tyrone Township, Adams County, to the late Mervin R. and Etta Frances Rummel. He was widowed by his wife, Alda Harman.

George worked in the sanitation department at Duffy Motts, attended Rock Chapel Church, was a member of the Eagles Club, and enjoyed football, baseball, softball, bowling, hunting, fishing and weed-whacking. He also loved watching wrestling.

George is survived by his children; Ricky Rummel of Lykens, Richie Rummel of York Springs, Ruthann Rummel; step-daughter, Dixie Atha and husband, Mike of Aspers; and grandchildren, Ashley Atha, Anne Atha and Shawn Atha. He was preceded in death by his sons, George Rummel, Jr., Randy Rummel, infant daughter, MaryLou Rummel and siblings, Betty Sanders, Wilmer Rummel and Robert Rummel.
