George R. Shepp, Jr.

George R. "Mike" Shepp, Jr., age 83 of Bendersville, formerly of Montgomery County, MD, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at York Hospital. He was born Wednesday, August 23, 1933 in Washington DC, the son of the late George R. Sr. and Beatrice M. (Jennings) Shepp. George graduated from Bladensburg High School. He was formerly employed with the Operating Engineers Union Local 99 in Washington DC for 30+ years. He loved to do woodworking and spend time in his woodshop.In his younger years, he was an accomplished roller-skater. George and his family enjoyed riding motorcycles on Bear Mountain and the Michaux State Forest. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Indiana C. (Clark) Shepp. He is also survived by, two sons, Daniel W. and wife Leann M. Shepp of Silver Spring, MD and Martin G. Shepp of Bendersville, five grandchildren, Kenneth D. Tisdale, Brandon M. Shepp, Nicholas P. Shepp, Daniel G. Shepp, Maria G. Shepp, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Shepp. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. A viewing will be held Saturday, November 5 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 South Main Street, Bendersville.
