Georgia Etta Doersom

Georgia Etta (Alwine) Doersom, age 78 of Gettysburg, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Colonial Manor in York. She was the wife of Donald E. Doersom, Sr., her husband of over 58 years. Georgia was born Friday, February 22, 1935 at home in Elizabethtown. She was the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Mary (Hoffer) Alwine. She graduated from Hershey High School in 1952. Georgia was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. She devoted her life to God and caring for her family and friends. In addition to her husband Don, Georgia is survived by brother, Jack A. Alwine and two Doersom sons, David E. and wife Kelly of Biglerville and Donald E., Jr. of Gettysburg; three grandchildren: Stephan, Donald III, and Jenna Mae and her adpoted sister, Christine Fox of Gettysburg. Georgia was predeceased by her brother Jim, and sisters Margaret Alwine and Cas Lineweaver, all formerly of Hershey. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 2:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 30 Chambersburg Street, Gettysburg with Reverend Stephen R.
