Geraldine C. Fetrow, age 85, formerly of Arendtsville and York Springs died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Brethren Home in New Oxford. She was born Tuesday, June 10, 1924 in Steelton the daughter of the late Gilbert E. and Ruth G. (Ickes) Cooper. Geraldine graduated from Steelton High School in 1942. She was employed by Mechanicsburg Naval Depot in the personnel department for about 30 years. She was a member of Heidlersburg Church of the United Brethren in Christ for over 60 years as well as York Springs Senior Citizens, NARFE and WCTU. She served as president of the Women's Missionary Fellowship for many years and was a teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship and Bible School. Her husband Earl E. Fetrow died in 2004. She is survived by three sons: William D. Fetrow and wife Anne, Huntington, IN, Thomas E. Fetrow and wife Barb, Burton, MI, Timothy J. Fetrow and wife Patti, Biglerville; four grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her brother Gilbert Cooper and two sisters, Kathryn Messinger and Dorothy M. Steever. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM at Heidlersburg Church of the United Brethren in Christ, 2736 Heidlersburg Road, Gettysburg with the Reverend Craig A. Loewen officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main St., Bendersville on Sunday, April 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A viewing will also be held in her church from 9:30 AM Monday until time of services.
