Goldie I. Newman

Goldie I. (Talpas) Newman, age 56 of Bendersville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at York Hospital due to complications of lung cancer. She was born Monday, September 10, 1956 in Budapest, Hungary, the daughter of the late Mihaly and Elizabeth (Kiess) Talpas. Goldie attended Biglerville High School. She was formerly employed by Dal-Tile in Gettysburg until 1988. She is survived by one daughter, Ashley and husband Dan Dahnke of Hanover; two sons: Anthony and wife Shannon Newman of Hanover and Kyle Davis of Hanover; two grandsons: Mason Dahnke of Hanover and Caden Rothhaupt of Gettysburg; two sisters: Gabriella Talpas of Abbottstown and twin sister Elizabeth Shealer of Carlisle; one brother, Nicholas Talpas of Florida; one niece, Danielle Shealer of Carlisle; three nephews: Louis Talpas of New Oxford, Michael Talpas of Abbottstown and Dominic Garretson of Carlisle and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Talpas. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Angel Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will be held Monday, May 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Dugan Funeral Home.
