Grace E. Burr

Grace E. (Boal) Burr, age 92 of Corry, PA, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Shippensburg Healthcare Center. She was born Sunday, June 25, 1922 in West Middlesex, the daughter of the late Chester L. and Dorothy M. (McCluskey) Boal. Grace graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1940. She was formerly employed by Corry School District as a secretary in the elementary school for about 20 years. She was an active member ofFirst Presbyterian Church of Corry and Women's Circle of the church. She loved to knit hats for cancer patients, booties for newborns, and prayer shawls. The church was a very important part of her life. Grace loved to garden and took great pride in her flower garden, where she planted seeds that she collected as she travelled with her husband throughout the U.S. and Europe. Grace was a devoted wife, mother and proud grandmother. Her husband, Kenneth J. Burr passed away in 2001. She is survived by her son, Bruce B. Burr of Chambersburg, two grandsons, Steven D Burr of Rochester, NY and Daniel C. Burr of Las Vegas, NV and one granddaughter, Emily C. Burr of Allison Park, PA. She was preceded in death by her son, David K. Burr. Cremation services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 27 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Corry with Reverend Larry Myers officiating.
