Grafton E. Wagner

Grafton E. Wagner, age 64 of York Springs, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at his home. He was born Monday, June 16, 1947 in Abbottstown, the son of Laura M. (Trone) Wagner of York Springs and the late Stuart C. Wagner. Grafton graduated from Bermudian Springs High School in 1965. He was employed by Knouse Foods for more than 20 years. He also had worked for 13 years at Roadway. He was a member of Uriah United Methodist Church, Ira E. Lady Post 262 American Legion in Biglerville, Mummasburg Athletic Assoc. Grafton played in the South Penn and West Shore Twilight baseball leagues for many known as "Crafty Grafty for well known junk balls". Grafton also helped coach the Upper Adams Youth League, Adams County National Bank Team. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Stacy J. Thorne of Harrisburg, and five sisters: Gloria Dove of Dover, Nancy Sheaffer of York Springs, Marie Fishel of Duncannon, Laura French of Mechanicsburg and Jane Wagner of Mechanicsburg; granddaughter, Raven A.J. Thorne and a grandson, Daegen J.A. Thorne, both of Aspers. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doak Wagner. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 27 at Dugan Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin D. Bole officiating. Interment will be in Victory Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, February 26 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
