Greg J. Walde, age 66, of Gettysburg, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 14, 1957 in Gettysburg, the child of Shirley A. (Watson) Walde and the late Joseph W. Walde.
Greg graduated from Gettysburg High school in 1975. He was the owner/operator of Walde's Motor Repair in Gettysburg for many years with his Dad. He was a partner of FV Church in Gettysburg, a member of Upper Adams Fish and Game, Mercersburg Sportsmans Assoc., Motorcyclists for Jesus Ministry, and the Wheel Horse Collectors Club. He loved hunting with family, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grandkids, family camping trips as well as spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed being a mechanic, and serving the community through his business. Greg enjoyed all types of music, especially contemporary Christian music. He and Elaine attended many concerts together through the years.
Jesus was first in his life and his heart's desire was that his entire family would come to know the Lord and live for Him. One of his favorite verses was Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elaine (Keller) Walde. He is also survived by son, Ryan and his wife Jess of Orrtanna, daughter, Amanda Charles and her husband Duane of Manheim, three grandchildren, Lincoln and Juliet Walde, and Colby Charles; siblings Diana [David] Gulden of Gettysburg, Mark [Belinda] Walde of Biglerville, Jody [George] Walde-Stine of Biglerville, Nick Walde and companion Rebecca Hansford of Gettysburg, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his Aunt, Virginia (Walde) and Jerry Miller of Biglerville.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
