Harold Robert Baltzley, Jr.

Harold Robert Baltzley, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Biglerville on Sunday, May 21, 2023. He was born March 26, 1941 in Gettysburg to the late Harold R. Baltzley, Sr. and Mary I. (Baker) Baltzley.


Harold, known by many as “Snooks”, was a 1960 Graduate of Biglerville High School. He is a Veteran of the US Army including a tour in Vietnam. Upon his return, he settled in Biglerville, working as a dispatcher at R.F. Truesdale and later working as a truck driver for C.H. Musselman’s. Harold was also a long-time member of IRA E Lady Post 262 American Legion of Biglerville.


Harold lived a quiet, solitary life in the mountains outside of Biglerville. His passion was hunting, and he had a true love of dogs, raising many German Shepherds throughout his life that served as his companions.


He is survived by his older brother, Kenneth Baltzley and his wife, Liz; two daughters, Cathy Miller and her husband, Edwin and Wendy Ehrler and her husband, Robert; niece, Joy K. (Black) Cline and her husband, Steve and four nephews, Tracy A. Black and his wife, Lisa, Timothy J. Black, Lance Baltzley and his wife, Laura and Dennis R. Baltzley and his wife, Karine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy M. (Baltzley) Black and brother, Jeffrey Baltzley.


Professional Services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
