Harold S. Hastings

Harold Samuel Hastings, age 91, of Chambersburg, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Martinsburg VA Hospital in Martinsburg, WV. He was born March 24, 1931 in Chambersburg, a son of late Samuel C. Gelsinger and Lydia R. (Keefer) Brewer. Harold enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve in 1948, graduated from William Penn High School in 1950, served in the United States Navy from 1950-1955 and rejoined the United States Naval Reserves from 1955 - 1962. He worked for Wills Aluminum in Camp Hill, worked for 10 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad, worked as a salesman for Prudential Insurance for 25 years from 1962 - 1987, was a self-employed insurance salesman and latest was a motor coach driver for Wolf Bus Lines for 25 years. Harold loved driving motor coach and playing in the dirt at the farm. He is survived by his wife, Lucille D. (Cantrell) Hastings, son, Steven Hastings of York Springs, grandson, Seth Hastings and wife, Sarahbeth of York Springs and brother, Paul F. Hastings and wife, Carol of Michigan. Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles C. Black and Harry M. Black. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Harold will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
