Harvey G. Hoover

Harvey G. Hoover, age 75, of Shippensburg, passed onto his eternal reward Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1947 in Ephrata, PA to the late Ivan Z. and Susie R. (Groff) Hoover.

He was a farmer for his whole life. Harvey was a retired farmer and worked for Nolt’s Power Equipment in Shippensburg. He was a member of the Old Order Mennonite Groffdale Conference in Shippensburg.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Mary S. (Martin) Hoover of Shippensburg; six daughters and two sons, Dorothy M. Hoover of Shippensburg, Edna Mae Nolt and her husband, Jay of Shippensburg, Ruth Ann Nolt and her husband, Walter of Shippensburg, Marlin Hoover and his wife, Ellen of Eldorado Springs, MO, Susan Leid and her husband, Allen of Shippensburg, Linda Gehrett and her husband, Jeremy of Shippensburg, Lester Hoover and his wife, Tina of Eldorado Springs, MO and Kathryn Martin and her husband, David of Shippensburg; 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, John G. Hoover and his wife, Anna of Ephrata, Noah G. Hoover of Ephrata and Ammon G. Hoover of Ephrata, Edna G. Hoover of Ephrata, Mabel Burkholder and her husband, John of Leola, PA and sister-in-law, Lucy Hoover of Ephrata. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lynelle Nolt, two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Elam G. Hoover and Ivan G. Hoover.

Professional Services have been entrusted to the Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Shippensburg. A Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at his Residence. The Funeral Service will be Monday, March 6, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Locust Lane Mennonite Church, 35 Hammond Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257, with Bishop Aaron I. Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
