Hazel M. Ramos

Hazel "Mom/Grandma" M. Ramos, age 76 of Biglerville, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was born Wednesday, December 29, 1937 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Sherman S. and Lola N. (Stotler) Speelman. Hazel had worked with her husband for several fruit farmers in Upper Adams, but most of all she was a homemaker. Her husband, Juan Ramos passed away July 25, 1999. She is survived by seven daughters, Jenny (JeMay) Lua of Arendtsville, Betty Perry of Gardners, Linda Bolin of Lancaster, Sylvia Garcia,Carmen Ramos, and Helen Estrada, all of Bendersville, Lydia Martin of Lancaster; two sons, Fred Ramos and Jimmy Ramos both of Gardners; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and a brother, Clarence Speelman of Aspers. She is also survived by her caregivers, Cassandra N. Ramos-Estrada and Nelson and Francisco Clavel of Biglerville. She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Jerry Ramos; two daughters, Gladys Estrada and Brenda Renoll; six sisters and four brothers. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 5 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Father Bernardo Pistone officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Dugan Funeral Home, P.O. Box 393, Bendersville, PA 17306 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
