Helen Louise Bair

Helen Louise Bair, age 72, passed away on Saturday April 27, 2024 at her home in Gettysburg with her daughters by her side. She was born on February 20, 1952, in Gettysburg as the daughter of the late Richard and Marion (Mayer) Miller.

In Helen’s early career she worked for many years in the Borough of Gettysburg as a parking enforcement officer. She then worked for Penn Dot as a purchasing agent until her retirement. She loved watching baseball and cheering for the York Revolution Baseball Team. She also enjoyed giving back to the community and used her crocheting skills to make over 600 scarves for the homeless community. Helen was an active Union Member of AFSCME Council 13. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, family member and friend.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Christina Free and spouse Michele, her grandson, Zachary Waltman and her granddaughter, Allison Lieberman. She is also survived by her sister Rose McCleaf and husband Bryan; and her sister in law and best friend, Sherry Miller, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bair, her sister, Linda Carbijal and her brother Gary Miller.

Professional Services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, PA. A Celebration of Life service led by Reverend Susan McCarthy will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 West King Street, East Berlin, PA 17316. The family will begin receiving visitors at 6:00 PM, with the service starting at 7:00 PM and a light dessert reception immediately following.
