Helen M. Hurley

Helen M. Hurley, age 87 of Carlisle, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sunday, February 26, 1928 in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Samuel Woodrow and Grace Viola (Piper) Minnich. Helen was formerly a manager at Reeves Hoffman in Carlisle, where she was employed for 32 years.She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Carlisle. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, golfing and working in her garden. Helen is survived byher husband of 69 years, Roland T. Hurley.She is also survived by two daughters, Brenda Lee Hurley Pisano of Mechanicsburg, and Cheryl L. Young of Carlisle; three grandchildren: Ronald, Kristen and Holly, four great-grandchildren, three sisters: Mary Jumper and Martha Rice, both of Newville, Janet Gaete of Warren, NJ and two brothers: Harold Minnich and Bruce Minnich, both of Newville. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Private gravesideservices will be held Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00 AM with Very Reverend William C. Forrey officiating.
