Homer John Powell

Homer John Powell, age 64, of Chambersburg, loving husband of Ginger Powell, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

Homer was born Wednesday, June 21, 1961, in McConnellsburg, he is the child of John Kenneth Powell and Sylvia Rohm Powell.

Homer was an auto mechanic and parts salesman for many years. Having a passion for the outdoors, Homer was a lifetime member of LSL Sportsmen’s Club in Orrstown as well as a Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter Education Instructor. He was a member of the Amaranth Church of the Brethren where he was a missionary group member as well as a member of the kid’s club. Homer, an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, hunter-trapper education, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, of nearly 41 years, Ginger May Powell. Homer is also survived by his mother, Sylvia Powell; his daughter, Renee Nicole Myers and her husband, Ben; one brother, Kenneth Lee Powell; two sisters, Teresa Dubbs and her husband, Mike, and Karen Brechbill and her husband, Earl; one brother-in-law, Jim Miller; and two beloved grandchildren, Makayla Renee and Sohpia Nicole Myers. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kenneth Powell; two sisters, Lilly Black and Kim Miller; one brother-in-law, Jeffrey Black, and a nephew, Christopher Miller.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
