Howard “Squirrel” Williams, age 72, of Shippensburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born October 24, 1952 in Franklinton, Mississippi, as the son of the late Sullivan Causey and Ovazean (Williams) Calhoun.
After high school he went on to join the US Army and served during the Vietnam War Era. After his Army career, he worked as a library technician at Letterkenny Army Depot. He also did painting at Letterkenny as well. In his spare time, Howard enjoyed watching football and tv, bowling, pool and in his younger years, playing basketball.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Glenda (Brown) Williams; two daughters, Samantha Williams and her partner, Denny Nave of Hagerstown, MD and Sawn Keturah Cramer and her husband, Mark of Chambersburg, two step-grandchildren, Sierra and Keegan Nave; two sisters, Brenda Wilson and Peggy McGee and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Calhoun and his two brothers, Kenny Williams and Randy Calhoun.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be private at the family’s discretion. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
