Iona A. Kronawetter

Iona A. (Rice) Kronawetter, age 83 of Shippensburg, met her Lord on December 5, 2013 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1930 in Reems, PA, a daughter of the late Edgar E. and Elizabeth N. (Williams) Rice. She attended Shippensburg High School with the class of 1948. She was a server at Burkhart's Restaurant and also the Select Restaurant. She had attended the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren. Iona loved to travel, play bingo, and enjoyed card games. She will be greatly missed by her beloved Himalayan, Summer. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon and husband Larry Wadel of Shippensburg, Polly and husband Chuck Torisky of Pittsburgh, and Thelma Peters of Norfolk, VA, two sons, Eric and wife Darlene Kronawetter of East Petersburg, Richard and wife Abeer Kronawetter of Cannonsburg, thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darius Rice and Jacob Rice. Iona's Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, with the Reverend Robert Jacobs officiating.
