J. Paul Thompson

John Paul Thompson, age 82 of Shippensburg, died Friday, August 10, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, April 8, 1930 in Pensacola, FL, the son of the late Ralph B. and Eva (Burkhead) Thompson. John graduated from Pleasantville High School. He attended Houghton College in New York.John was a self-employed contractor, building churches in Southcentral PA and Northern MD. He served in the United States Air Force. John is survived by two daughters: Amy J.Thompson of Shippensburg and Rebecca J. Naylor of New York; two sons: Nathan S.Thompson of Pittsburgh and John P. Thompson of Shippensburg; two sisters: Elizabeth Thompson and Virginia Allender both of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Burnett Thompson of Washington, DC; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Joel E. Thompson and a grandaughter, Sara E. Thompson. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Shippensburg. Memorial Services will be held at the discretion of the family.
