Jack C. Asper, age 83 of Gardners, passed away onWednesday, August 27, 2014 at Lutheran Home in Gettysburg. He was born Sunday,December 14, 1930 in Aspers, the son of the late Paul F. and N. Beatrice (Pittenturf) Asper. Jack graduated from Biglerville High School in 1949. He was formerly employed by PPG Industries in Mt. Holly for 20 plus years. He was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Idaville United Brethren in Christ Church. He enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR races. He was truly a "Jack of all trades". He served in the U.S. Army from January 1955 to October 1956. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Jane L. (Anderson)Asper. He is also survived by his daughter, Jody L. Asper of Gardners, a son, J. C. and wife Cathy Asper, II of Gardners, three grandchildren, Laura Waldron, Emily Harver, Bradley Weber, one great-granddaughter, Peytyn Waldron and one sister, Janet Guise of York Springs. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Richard, and Wayne Asper. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 30 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Keller officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
