James M. Golden, age 69 of Aspers, formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home. He was born Thursday, April 12, 1945 in Cumberland, MD. He was the son of the late Charles S. and Irene (Diehl) Golden. James graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1963. New Harrisburg Truck Body formerly employed him for several years. He had owned and operated Jim Golden's Body shop on Trindle Road in Carlisle and had driven truck for Giant Foods. He is survived by two nieces, Lisa Hake of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kimberly Etter of Landisburg, a nephew, Robert L. Hoffman, Jr. of York Springs, and brother-in-law, Robert L. Hoffman, Sr. of Myrtle Beach, SC. Jim's extended family included the former Pizza Queen owner, Gene Rohrer and his family. He was preceded in death by his sister Sally A. Hoffman. Cremation services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Services and interment will be at the discretion of the family. Special thanks are extended to David and Peggy Diehl for giving Jim a loving and caring place to live for the past several years.
