James J. Wampler, age 76 of Aspers died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, September 29, 1936 in Biglerville the son of the late Robert E. and Ruth M. (Cooley) Wampler. James attended Biglerville High School. He was employed by PPG Industries in Mt. Holly for 27 years. He was also formerly employed by Duffy-Motts in Aspers for 19 years. He was a member of Adams County Fish and Game. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carrie A. (Mickley) Wampler. He is also survived by two daughters: Lori J. Carvell and husband Troy of Aspers, Kelly L. Smyers and husband Ben of Gardners, one son: Dale J. Wampler and companion Sharon Zirk of Aspers, granddaughter, Kerri Eckenrode of Hershey, whom Jim and Carrie raised; one sister Marvel Tuckey of Biglerville; four additional grandchildren, Brandy Glacken, Olivia Carvell, Amy Smyers, Katie Smyers, and two great-grandchildren; Devon Glacken and Vincent Glacken. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon L. Eckenrode, a sister Imojean Eckert and two brothers, Donald and Richard Wampler. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville withReverend Stuart Johnsofficiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursdayat 1 PMuntil time of services. .
