James "Jim" K. Reed

James Reed, 89, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026 with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Hepfer) Reed.

Jim grew up in Pleasant Hall, and married Zenith (Rosenberry) Reed in 1959. They enjoyed a long and wonderful life of 67 years together until her passing 8 weeks ago on June 1. They enjoyed bowling and casinos, and traveled to many places with their family and friends. Jim enjoyed nature and was an avid hunter. In their later years, Jim and Zenny found a winter home in Florida where they made many friends.

Jim worked as a computer programmer at Letterkenny Army Depot for many years and retired in 1991. He was a member of Orrstown Masonic Lodge No. 262 and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

Jim is survived by his daughter Lindy Maxwell (Curt), grandchildren Stephanie Johnson, Angela Johnson and Kyle Clever, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Dennis Reed (Kay). In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two daughters, Sherry Johnson and Darcy Clever.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home & Cremation, Ltd., 51 Asper Drive in Shippensburg. A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257. A service will follow at 11:00 AM. James will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hall Cemetery.
