James John Kyle, age 74 of Newville, passed away onSaturday, May 27, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center in Carlisle. He was born Sunday, January 24, 1943 in Newville, the son of the late Joseph J. and Amy (Swartz) Kyle. James graduated from Big Spring High School in 1960. He went to barber school in Harrisburg and we self-employed as a barber in Carlisle as well as working for Charlie Stakes Barber Shop and the Paul Snyder Barber Shop. He also worked as a warehouse and forklift operator at the Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg. His faith was very important to Jim. He had over 30 bibles, loved listening to gospel music and regularly attended worship. He was a member of the Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Newville. He was a past member of Dublin Gap Church of God serving as a deacon. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley (Gutshall) Kyle, two sons, David J. (Luanne) Kyle and Daniel J. (Kathleen) Kyle, six grandchildren, Dominick Kyle, Faith Kyle, Grace Kyle, Abigail Duvall, Lauren Kyle and Samantha Duvall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle, Stewart Kyle and his step-mother, Helen Kyle. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Christian Bible Fellowship Church,49 Stamy Road, Newville with Pastor Jim Moats officiating. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Pennsylvania by visiting pa.audubon.org.
