James M. Boone, Jr.

James M. Boone, Jr., age 76 of Shippensburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab in Chambersburg. He was born Sunday, July 19, 1936 in Frederick, MD,the son of the late James M. and Adelade E. (Sappington) Boone. Jim was formerly employed as a bartender by VFW in Shippensburg. He had also worked at the Frick Co. in Waynesboro for many years. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed driving the Skyline Drive while on Front Royal vacations. His wife, Sylvia B. (Arnold) Boone died in April 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela L. Zeigler of Shippensburg; three sons: Michael D. Boone of Hellam, John M. Boone of Hanover, and Greg S. Boone of Harrisburg; four grandchildren: Heather, Derrick, Ryan and Kenny and step-granddaughter Mailaina. He was preceded in death by a son, James W. Boone in 2011 and a brother, William Boone. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 AM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Garry Culler officiating. Interment will be in Path Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:30 AM until time of services.
