James Edward Myers, of Gettysburg, entered into Gods eternal care on May 20, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on June 20, 1948 in Gettysburg, James was the son of the late Frederick William Myers and Marlyn (Rosenberry) Myers.

James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Sergeant. His valor and commitment were honored through numerous accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation. His service to his country exemplified his unyielding spirit and selflessness. A proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion, James remained active in his community, fostering camaraderie and support among fellow veterans. His passion for the Philadelphia Eagles exemplified his unwavering loyalty, as he enjoyed watching football games and movies.

James is survived by his four children, Dianna McGuirk (Robert Jr.), Donna Stephens (Yancy), Jeff Myers (Kristin), Deborah Chronister (Wade); one brother, Fred Myers (Linda); one sister, Rita Myers; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street in Bendersville. At this time, services will be held privately.
