James "Skip" T. Hayes

James T.(Skip) Hayes, age 64 of Orrtanna, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at York Hospital. He was born Thursday, June 1, 1950 in Baltimore, the son of Jack and Ruth (Dodson) Hayes of Sun City, Arizona. James graduated from Woodlawn High School in Baltimore in 1968. He was formerly employed by Social Security Administration in Baltimore for more than 30 years. He was a member of VFW of Gettysburg and was a re-enactor of both the Civil War and WWII. He served in the US Marine Corps as a LCPL during Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart for a battle injury. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Kathleen McGinty Hayes. He is also survived by his daughter, Heather N. Hayes of Orrtanna. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hayes and a brother, Richard Hayes. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 28 at Dugan Funeral Home withChaplain Dan Somers officiating. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, July 27 at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
