Janet M. Mcguirk

Janet M. McGuirk, age 82 of Biglerville, passed away January 28, 2024. She was born January 20, 1942 in Wenksville to the late D. Bruce and Elsie A.E. (Koontz) Sheaffer.

Janet was a US Women’s Army Corp Veteran, a member of Trinity Christian Fellowship in Biglerville, Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville and the AMVETS Post 172 in Fairfield. She was also a member of the Bendersville Fire Auxiliary. After finishing basic training, Janet marched in the John F. Kennedy Inaugural parade in Washington, DC. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were her life.

She is survived by her children, Teresa McGuirk and companion, Ralph Mowen of Biglerville, Robert “Bobby” McGuirk, Jr. and wife, Dianna of Etters, and Christine and husband, Steve Daron of Biglerville; grandchildren, Desiree and Daniel McGuirk and Kara, Stevie and wife, Alissa, Cody and Tyler Daron; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cole and Joshua Daron and Isabella Serano and sister, Jean Klinedinst of York Springs. Janet is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Hess and brothers, Donald and Tom Sheaffer.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, where a viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00PM.
